So in essence, you're right, no professional dev uses a console controller over keyboard and mouse, but no professional devs are using Project Spark. Project spark isn't a typical game development application though, it's custom built to work well with a control, and while I haven't experienced using it with a control, I'm sure there are plenty of people that have, and it will have been made as simple and easy as possible. A lot of those applications, especially programs like 3DS Max or other similar programs really, in my opinion, need a keyboard, you can get the little attachments to xBox controls that give them a QWERTY keyboard, but I doubt they'd work in the same capacity you need in those kinds of programs, doable, but not as efficient or smooth.
